Yiling Chen (Professor)

Yiling conducts research at the intersection between computer science and economics — an exciting, fun, and growing field. She loves teaching AM 121 because it is fascinating to see the elegant math behind the highly applicable optimization techniques and it feels even better to explain it.

George Hu

George is a junior in Quincy House studying Applied Math and Statistics. He is also interested in urban planning, which is one of the many diverse areas that the coursework in AM 121 can be utilized in. Being from southern California, George loves warm weather, long road trips, and the Lakers. He is excited to be involved with the class this year and looks forward to working with everyone.

Kevin Lee

Kevin is a senior in Mather House studying Applied Math/Economics. He is proud of the linear program he wrote to help decide rooming arrangements in his suite and is excited to help teach students similarly incredible skills.

Chara Podimata

Chara is a second year PhD student, working with Yiling. She loves doing research on the intersection between Economics and Computer Science. Chara loves helping people understand the intuition behind complex ideas. In her free time, she enjoys binge-watching shows, reading books and camping in the wild in Greece. Lastly, Chara loves animals and especially cats.

Jessica Sithebe

Jessica is a senior from Swaziland living in Mather House and concentrating in Applied Math/Decisions. She loves all the cool, useful problem-solving techniques that AM121 teaches and is excited to introduce them to new students. In her downtime, Jessica enjoys watching films, baking and travelling to new places.

Everett Sussman

Everett, from Connecticut, is a junior living in Currier House studying Applied Mathematics and Statistics.  He has been a TF for Stat 110, and really enjoys sharing fascinating material with other students.  He is particularly excited to help teach AM 121 because the course does a wonderful job outlining the Simplex method, a tool used by major corporations and research groups around the world.  In his free time, Everett enjoys hiking, sailing, golf, tennis, piano, and exploring the Sonoran desert of southern Arizona.
